As a native of the Chicago-land area, I am ecstatic about offering quality, evidence-based therapeutic care to members of my community. I am a licensed clinical psychologist that specializes in working with adults who are finding it challenging to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, race and gender related stress, burnout, grief, body image issues, bipolar disorder, and navigate relationship concerns.
I am well-trained in offering comprehensive psychological care, and have developed an expertise in working with individuals from marginalized communities. I received my Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Houston, Masters of Arts (MA) in community counseling from Loyola University Chicago, and Bachelor of Science (BS) in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field and have been recognized for several research accomplishments.
I adopt an integrative approach to therapy that emphasizes three major tenants: 1). A client must be understood holistically and within the socially embedded context of the his or her family, culture, and environment 2). Clients possess internal strengths, that when activated, can be beneficial during the therapeutic process 3). Therapy is a collaborative process that relies on the client to communicate his or her thoughts, feelings, and reactions to lived experiences. My role as a therapist is to offer my expertise and curate a space where I can work with clients to process their pain, and identify ways to navigate life optimally.
I would personally like to congratulate you on taking the first steps toward embarking on a journey of healing. To learn more about how you can be connected to services offered through TRUE Space, please click the link below. I look forward to working with you!
